About Me

Brittney Chesworth, PhD, LCSW

Hello and welcome! I am a psychotherapist and I specialize in the treatment of anxiety. I experience great joy in helping individuals overcome their anxiety so they can live a full life of joy and contentment. In the 13 years that I have worked as a practitioner and researcher in the mental health field, I have learned a great deal about how anxious thoughts, feelings and behaviors can impact someone's life. I have treated people suffering from anxiety as a result of a wide range of environmental circumstances, including adjustment and life transitions, workplace challenges, divorces or breakups, relationship challenges, family challenges, trauma and violence, grief and loss and a variety of health issues including acute, chronic or terminal illnesses. Through all of my experiences treating women with a variety of backgrounds and circumstances, I have learned that anyone can overcome anxiety with the right type of treatment and commitment to change.

One of my chief purposes in life is to empower my clients to become strong and thriving people, free from the anxiety that has been holding them back from being present and really enjoying their life.

In helping my clients overcome anxiety, I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a type of treatment that has been proven to be effective at reducing anxiety symptoms. Throughout our work together, I may also use a variety of additional techniques to help women make lasting changes in their lives.
